Peppermint Essential Oil: Known for its invigorating and refreshing properties, peppermint oil can help:
- Clear sinuses and ease congestion, making it perfect for shower steamers during colds.
- Boost energy levels and focus, ideal for a morning pick-me-up.
- Relieve muscle tension and headaches with its cooling effect.
Lavender Essential Oil: Renowned for its soothing and relaxing benefits, lavender oil can:
- Reduce stress and promote a sense of calm, perfect for unwinding after a long day.
- Improve sleep quality, making lavender bath bombs great for evening use.
- Soothe irritated skin and support healing with its gentle, anti-inflammatory properties.
By combining these essential oils with dried herbs, you’ll create not only a sensory treat but also a wellness boost for your mind and body.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 cup Baking soda
- 1/2 cup Citric acid
- 1/4 Cornstarch
- Alcohol or Witch hazel
- 20/25 drops Essential oils (peppermint and lavender)
- Dried herbs (mint leaves and lavender buds)
- Mica powder or food-grade coloring (optional)
TOOLS:
- Mixing bowls
- Silicone molds (various shapes)
- Spray bottle (filled with alcohol or witch hazel)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1 In a large bowl, mix baking soda, citric acid and cornstarch
2 Add the water or witch hazel gradually with the spray bottle, the consistency should resemble damp sand and hold its shape when squeezed.
3 Divide the dry mixture into separate bowls if using different scents or colors. Add mica powder or food-grade coloring if desired, and mix well.
4 Add the essential oils and mix well.
5 Before adding the mixture to the molds, sprinkle a pinch of dried herbs into the bottom of each mold. This step not only enhances the presentation but also releases the herbal aroma as the steamers or bath bombs fizz.
6 Press the mixture firmly over the herbs in the silicone molds. For shower steamers, use small, flat molds. For bath bombs, use round molds or other fun shapes.
7 Allow the molds to dry completely for 24–48 hours in a cool, dry place.
8 Once dry, store your shower steamers and bath bombs in an airtight container to preserve their fizz, fragrance, and the freshness of the herbs.
How to Use
- Shower Steamers: Place one steamer on the shower floor, away from the direct stream of water. As it fizzes, it will release essential oils and herbal aromas into the steam.
- Bath Bombs: Drop one into a warm bath and watch it fizz, releasing soothing scents, moisturizing oils, and a gentle touch of dried herbs.
